Continuing on my look at the new VF range I’ll having a look at the VF Calais and Calais V.

When you talk about luxury in the VF range then nothing says it more then the Calais and Calais V.

Looking at the spec sheet you would expect to see it belonging to a more expensive euro import and then you see prices and your blown away, Holden has spared no expense with the VF and you can tell that straight away by looking at the extensive equipment list.

The Calais range is split into the Calais and the Calais V both models come in both Sedan and Sportwagon, I’ll start by looking at the Calais.

With a RRP Price of just $39990 for the sedan and $42000 for the sportwagon, that’s right a Calais for under $40,000 this under cuts the previous model Calais by more than $8000. The Calais adds to the already impressive list of standard equipment on the Evoke model by stepping it up another level again by adding the following things.

Calais highlights:

Under the bonnet the Calais gets the more powerful 3.6L SIDI V6 rated at 210kw and 350nm of torque that is backed by a 6 spd auto transmission.

With a RRP starting at just $46990 for the V6 model the Calais V is priced at an astounding $9800 less than the previous model, while the V8 model is priced at just $52990 a massive $9000 cheaper then the previous model the sportwagon adds another $2000 to the price. While the Calais has an impressive level of features the Calais V and takes it to another level again  addition of the following features.

Previous model Calais have copped a bit of flack over the years for it’s suspension being too firm for luxury motoring but Holden have fixed that with the VF underpinning both Calais models is Holden’s FE1 suspension which has been tuned for comfort while still offering you a decent drive.

The Highlights of the suspension of the Calais and Calais V are below.
