MY15 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde

MY15 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde

Excitement is high this morning in the 3 on The Tree office with the release of the of the MY15 Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
I my opinion this is one of the best looking hatches on the market, those eye catching looks and Italian style and flair, help the Giulietta create something that is missing in a lot of cars on market today and that is passion.
The Giulietta will be available in 3 trim levels Progression, Distinctive and Quadrifoglio Verde and will be available with 3 different petrol engines and backed by either a 6 speed manual or 6 speed TCT.
I have a Giulietta booked to review at the end of next month so please check back for my views on it, only thing is I haven’t been told which model I have booked so it’s going to be a lucky dip although I wouldn’t be a proper car enthusiast if I didn’t say I have my fingers, toes and other parts of my anatomy crossed for the Quadrifoglio Verde.
Check out all the details below massive thanks to Fiat Chrysler for the info and pics.

The new Alfa Romeo Giulietta has arrived in Australia, bringing uniquely Italian exclusivity, style and sophistication to the luxury car segment. Already the most eye-catching and attractive car in its segment, the styling revisions for the new Giulietta have been carefully considered, and include all-new interiors, revised exteriors and award-winning powertrains.

The Giulietta’s stylish interior has received major technology enhancements, with the new 5.0- or 6.5-inch (with Navigation) touchscreen taking pride of place in the redesigned, high-quality dashboard, with the associated USB/Aux ports now relocated to a more convenient position in the centre console.

The all-new Uconnect system, fitted as standard across the entire Alfa Romeo Giulietta range, is operated via a 5.0-inch touchscreen or using voice commands and includes Bluetooth connectivity, wireless music streaming and hands-free SMS reading. Giulietta models fitted with satellite navigation benefit from a larger 6.5-inch screen, intelligent route guidance and a one-step destination entry function with voice command. Both systems have been developed in collaboration with first-class partners: Harman and Here Auto for Uconnect 6.5″ and Continental for Uconnect 5″.

New door trim panels and a sporty new steering wheel design that incorporates the Alfa Romeo ‘Shield’ bring improved quality and more style to the cabin, while the redesigned seats – available in leather trim with heating – not only exude Italian craftsmanship, but are also more comfortable and more enveloping.

Extensively revised sound insulation also provides a quieter and more relaxed driving environment.

Exterior design revisions include a new front grille design featuring the Alfa Romeo ‘V’, revised front fog light bezels, new 16-inch alloy wheel designs and three new exterior colours (Moon White, Anodized Blue and Bronze) to further enhance its stunning looks.

Two engines will be offered, depending on trim level. The Giulietta Progression is equipped with Alfa Romeo’s 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 88kW @ 5000rpm and 215Nm @ 2500rpm while sipping just 6.4 litres per hundred kilometres and generating 148g C02 per kilometre. Proving performance can be efficient, the punchy powerplant will propel the Giulietta to 100km/h in just 9.2secs and push on to a top speed of 194km/h. The Giulietta Progression is paired with a slick six-speed manual gearbox.

The Giulietta Distinctive is powered by Alfa Romeo’s award-winning 1.4-litre MultiAir engine which offers uncompromised performance and impressive efficiency. Generating 125kW @ 5,500rpm and 250Nm @ 2,500rpm, the Giulietta Distinctive rockets to 100km/h in just 7.6secs and on to a top speed of 217km/h. And it does it all while sipping just 5.7 litres per hundred kilometres and emitting just 131g of CO2 per kilometer. The Giulietta Distinctive can be paired with a six-speed manual or smoothshifting six-speed TCT transmission.

Regardless of engine choice, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta driver always has the option of customising their car’s driving character using the standard Alfa DNA driving selector, allowing them to find the ideal blend of comfort, performance, safety and efficiency for the prevailing conditions.

Driving Dynamics
Built on Alfa Romeo’s most advanced architecture with a sophisticated multi-link rear suspension, the 2014 Alfa Giulietta provides not only one of the most enjoyable driving experiences in its class, it’s also one of the safest cars on the road.

In addition to VDC traction control, six airbags, three-point seat belts with double pretensioner, an anti-whiplash system and a third load line for excellent passenger compartment protection, the Giulietta is also fitted with the Alfa DNA driving selector and electronic Q2 differential – the system which allows torque to be transferred to the outer wheel when cornering, to prevent understeer at the front, with traction, safety and driveability benefits.

The Giulietta also features DST (which prompts drivers to apply the correct steering input in the event of an emergency through impulses at the wheel) and a pre-fill system which arms the brakes for emergency braking situations when it senses the driver may be losing control of the vehicle. As a further safety measure for 2014, a tyre pressure monitoring system is also now standard across the Alfa Romeo Giulietta range.

The Giulietta earned five stars in crash tests according to the strict parameters introduced by Euro NCAP from its launch, scoring 97% for adult passenger protection, one of the highest scores in the category.
