Honda Australia Ends 2018 With Best Sales Result in a Decade

  • Honda Australia closes out 2018 with 51,525 new car sales

MELBOURNE, 07 January 2018 – Honda Australia had its best new car sales result in a decade with 51,525 new Honda vehicles sold in 2018. Honda finished fourth in private sales for the year and tenth overall among the top automotive brands in Australia.
The biggest seller in the Honda stable in 2018 was the family-friendly CR-V with 16,107 new vehicles delivered around Australia in the year.  CR-V has long been a benchmark in the medium SUV segment but the most recent range has been the most popular one ever with a now seven-grade line-up including two seven-seaters and two all-wheel-drive variants.
The second highest selling model in the Honda range was the updated Honda HR-V with 12,148 new vehicles sold in 2018.  This is the second highest sales year for the popular small SUV, launched only in 2015, the HR-V had a mid-life upgrade in August which saw a new RS grade arrive, along with new safety upgrades across the range.
One of Honda’s most enduring nameplates – Civic, also had a strong year, finishing with combined sales of 13,470 across the sedan, hatch and Type R variants.  The Civic range features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across the range, refined yet bold design and Honda’s clever packaging ensuring all passengers are travelling in both style and comfort.  The magic seats in the Civic Hatch making it undoubtedly one of the most versatile vehicles in its class.
